Jacaszek, Osiennik, Krauchanka

Audiotextual music project inspired by the prose of Sokrat Janowicz, born in 2014 in the border town of Krynki – a meeting place of cultures, languages and memory. Created by Michał Jacaszek, Siarhiej Krauchanka (SK.EIN) and performer Jurek Osiennik (Sieńka), the project combines electroacoustics, post-folk and at times noir-jazz textures with experimental narration, forming musical études to Janowicz’s texts.
Over the years Miniatury has evolved – from improvised concert forms into a dense, impressionistic sound composition built from recordings of places, objects and the atmosphere of the borderland, including areas around the Białowieża Forest. The project is an artistic attempt to preserve the memory of a disappearing world – a dedication to the shared history of Poles and Belarusians, to a past illuminated by the August sun and a future remaining in the shadow of war.
Miniatury is a story about borders, memory and transience – about looking down the road even when you know that nothing will return and no one will arrive.
