Songs from the album are elaborations in which popular melodies cited and processed by Paderewski can be identified: "In a stone basement", "Behind the mountains, behind the forests", "Hey, I'm going into the forest". Other songs presented on the album belong to Paderewski's most popular compositions.
In the arrangement process, the songs were transformed, but they are still Paderewski's songs interpreted in a band-specific way. Sometimes there are even fragments of short improvisations, but they are only one of the elements of the original reading of old songs. Sometimes the time signature or harmony is changed, sometimes the voice from the accompaniment part is exposed. The fragment from time to time with the improvised solo part always takes place against the backdrop of an accompaniment based on the characteristic motif used by the composer. Therefore, improvisation naturally blends into the whole of the study. The arranger's own decision on how to split the piano texture between the four instruments has big sound and stylistic consequences. Thanks to this, you can highlight some phrases and melodies, or extend counterpoints.
