Nemezis vs Paweł Mykietyn
53 | 2013
The Nemesis Quartet, balancing on the verge of aural acrobatics, reinterprets the works of the eminent Polish composer, subduing contemporary music in a way.
In recent decades, musical creativity has been characterized by a mixture of styles and genres. Such eclecticism concerned both broadly understood contemporary music and progressive rock fragments. Two seemingly different and distant genres, such as electronic music and punk rock, came into contact with each other, creating an industrial trend, drawing both from experimental music and aggressive punk style. On the other hand, the contemporary music of the past decades has stood the test of time and has become an inspiration for the present generation of composers, opening them up to forms that were previously unknown to them.
Paweł Mykietyn, an outstanding and recognized composer of contemporary music, is more open to stylistic experiments than any other young Polish artist. In the past, a frequenter of Jarocin concerts, today he is a leading artist of the elite classical music trend. Invited to participate in the NEMEZIS vs MYKIETYN project, which is a form of reinterpreting fragments of his compositions to the electronic music of Nemesis, he agreed to share his recordings with us.
