The aim of Requiem Records
is building bridges
between generations and environments.
There have been several turning points in the history of the label. The events that provided the wind to our sails. The first such event was the launch of the Archive Series and here, a bow to Bolek Błaszczyk for the motivation. The second collaboration with Paweł Mykietyn on the album with our Nemesis - the resultant here was the interest on the part of the academic community. And that’s where Darek Przybylski comes in and we start the Opus Series. Jerzy Mazzoll is also an important figure, since thanks to him a dozen or so jazz albums have been released. The spirit of Eugeniusz Rudnik and the Exclusive series, which I work on with Bolek Błaszczyk and Marek Horodniczy, watches over all of this.
1993. A photocopied cover, a typewriter and problems with its arrangement, a recycling medium, copying from tape recorder to tape recorder, a small release, only a few copies. Those were the beginnings of Requiem Records.
