
Professor dr hab. Szymon Kawalla - full professor in musical arts, a leading Polish conductor and composer.
Dean of the Faculty of Composition, Conducting and Theory of Music at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw where he teaches the class of conducting. He cooperates with the Polish University Abroad in London, conducting lectures and doctoral seminars. In 1992 he received the academic title of professor of musical arts from the President of the Republic of Poland; a juror of International Music Competitions; he gives International Master Courses for Conductors.
He studied at the Fryderyk Chopin PWSM. in Warsaw (currently the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw) at the Faculties: Instrumental - violin, Composition, Conducting and Music Theory - symphonic and operatic conducting as well as composition and studies abroad in Switzerland, Hungary and Russia. He received his doctorate in art and habilitation at theFryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (currently the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw).
He managed leading Polish symphonic, opera and oratorio ensembles, among others Orchestra and Choir of PR and TV in Krakow, currently he is the music director and conductor of Yeongnam Opera Company in Daegu South Korea, permanent conductor of the final concerts and winners at the International Competition for Brass Instruments and Percussion in Jeju South Korea. and the artistic director and first conductor of the I. J. Paderewski Festival Orchestra in Warsaw.
He has made many radio and television recordings, ie Vienna Modern Masters CD Company (Austria and USA) as Principal Permanent Conductor. He gives concerts on the largest stages and opera houses in America, Asia and Europe.
Apart from his conducting activity, he composes chamber, symphonic and oratorio pieces.
He was awarded for his activities, among others - Order of Polonia Restituta Officer's Cross, Awards of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Grand Prix du disque Accademie Charles Cross - Paris, "Nike", Bene Meritum, Grand Prix at the International Opera Festival in Daegu in South Korea, a medal for merits for the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
