Bionulor

Erik

51 | 2012

The third album included in Sebastian Banaszczyk's project is an album whose source material was the figure and work of Erik Satie - an eccentric and genius composer of French modernism.

Bionulor is an extremely interesting electroacoustic project by Sebastian Banaszczyk. The artist, with the help of electronics, provokes deconstruction, the disintegration of samples taken from various sources. After early, shamanic music, trance songs and voice processing, it is time for a dark, modernist decadence. The base material of the third album are recordings of the greatest composer of the fin de siècle period, the precursor of ambient - Erik Satie.

"It was slyness! ... I liked it immediately."

Igor Strawiński o Eriku Satie

The dreamlike micromelancholy is intertwined with surreal games of the imagination, creating a bridge between two musical worlds distant in time and space. The composition of all songs is the processing of one of the most famous work by Eric Satie "Gymnopédies". The compositions were created using Bionulor's original work method, defined as "100% sound recycling".

“... Satie's smallest song is as tiny as a keyhole. Everything changes if you put your eye on it. "
Jean Cocteau
