Chwasty

"Music in crudo" - in its raw, primeval state ...
Only seemingly - the music of Chwasty is filled with unforced musical dialogues arranged in a structured counterpoint (e.g. piece no. 5), looped, sometimes virtuoso phrases of wind instruments, inlaid with voice. All this matter was recorded in the close microphone set. So, as on a fork, the ostinated halves of the harmonica resonate with archaic electronics, a completely decomposed phrase with quartered speech.
The sonic tissue of individual miniatures captured on the album also consists of tender moans, the cracks of the tape rewound, the crackle of a stylus, the tape rubs against the head, crosstalk from the adjacent tracks, bass and a dreamy oneiric guitar. It's a "live act" in the best style. Music housed in boxes, sorted into piles, piles of pearly details, like a patterned tablecloth. New ludicity. A real peculiar, rough beauty.
