Bellow Shapes vol.1
V 14 | 177 | OPUS 25 | 2018
The effects of the fascination with the accordion in the work of representatives of the of the young generation of Warsaw composers.
A series of publications presenting recordings of contemporary accordion music performed by students, graduates and educators of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Each album is an expression of a separate idea influencing the creation of a unique palette of musical "shapes" resulting from the possibilities of a modern concert accordion and the creative imagination of composers.
The album includes both recordings of solo works referring to traditional forms (Sonata for accordion by Rafał Janiak, Caprice No. 2 by Mikołaj Majkusiak), multisensual experiments (synEsthESiA Żaneta Rydzewska) and exploration of the possibilities of accordion in chamber music (Folla for viola and accordion by Żaneta Rydzewska, Halocline II by Teonika Rożynek - for two accordions, bass accordion and sampler). Five contrasting songs - a huge amount of creative ideas and impressions of communing with contemporary art performed by talented young musicians.
