Patti Yang: I started working on the album with a challenge: to break out of the rhythm. I began to devote more and more time to the studies of ancient medicine, esoteric sciences and sound medicine. Following my voice of intuition, I moved from London to the Mojave Desert, California, near the town of Joshua Tree. I fell in love with the soft, endless silence of open spaces. It became the foundation of my search and my creative work in its purest dimension. Thanks to the practice of intentional isolation and internal silence, I sensitized my senses; my hearing and eyes sharpened, and my body and mind merged with the phases of the moon. From this new place I gained a distance to everyday life, the media, politics, social change, communication, love and myself as a human. While the world was full of ubiquitous voyeurism - I intoxicated with newly discovered privacy. As an unobserved individual, I began to feel holiness every minute of the day and night.
The album title is a reflection on the current state of civilization - it goes beyond political barriers and borders, denominations and power systems. It sums up the rather ubiquitous existential sabotage, not as an oracle, but as a warning, an alarm for humanity's wake.
Why is this a farewell CD?
Because for me the nickname lost its strength and simply ceased to be needed. I took off my armor by taking it off. Absolutely not a farewell to music. On the contrary, it is a combination of music and conceptual work that has taken me the last 7 years. And why Patti Yang Group? I had the privilege of working with excellent musicians whom I wanted to include in the project in every respect. Be open to cooperation, create together, regardless of time zones, with no date of completion. The process of creating the album took exactly as much time as necessary. As a team - we are strong and we respect each other.
