Tomasz Gadecki and Marcin Bożek form one of the most intriguing duets on the Polish improvised and jazz-seeking music scene. With the help of three albums released so far, they have clearly proved that their intuitive understanding has something of a magic to it. In the music of “Olbrzym i kurdupel” (“The Giant and the Kurduple”) - as banal as it may sound - emotions come first. They dress these emotions in sounds spontaneously extracted from the instruments - on the surface it seems very simple, and yet so many other musicians sometimes forget about it.

The latest album of the “Olbrzym i kurdupel”, "In side Shout", was recorded with the participation of the German drummer Willi Hanna. Despite the fact that the duo's music - as it had seemed - isn’t lacking anything, the presence of the guest opened up new layers of creativity in the improvisers, refined the artistic statement, enriched it with so far absent details. Subdued, focused sounds are full of internal tension that comes directly from the artists' minds united in the act of creating. Vibrating from suppressed emotions, hidden in the subconscious, find their outlet in an intuitive act of creation and communication. "In side Shout" is a portion of addictive, mesmerizing music. At the same time, the album retains the charm of "live" improvisation and does not allow the listener to get bored.

We invited the drummer Willi Hanne to cooperate. His presence and playing acted as a catalyst, a link between our trio. His music seduced us with its attention to detail, delicacy that did not destroy the concept of the duo's playing, and also brought a new dimension to our creation process. You can hear everything that happens in silence, where the expression is limited by the moment when the sound is extracted. Paradoxically, what is usually the beginning of music - the sound - on this album is treated as the end ... So what does the material recorded on the album "In Side Shout" contain? It contains a world of music that sits between silence and sound. This world turned out to be very inspiring and rich in many shades and colors, full of expression, where unplayed sounds play an important role, although they could be played. The creative process, in this case can be described as following the inner shout that is very often drowned out by everything around. This time, this process led us on an ascetic, cleansing, deep path, but not devoid of a surreal view of the world through the prism of the inner ear. All the music on the disc is by no means the result of establishing the form, it is the result of focusing on the creative process. It can be said that this focus is an attempt to leave all the learned and known methods of creation while sinking into the new reality that arises between musicians to such an extent that there is no longer any reaction to each other, and there is no more common creation and action.
