FASRAT

Compilation #1

105 | RFD01 | 2015

"FASRAT Compilation # 1" is the result of a cooperation between Father And Son Records And Tapes - a label run by Maciek Sienkiewicz, releasing vinyl EPs with recordings of Polish artists and Requiem For Disco, the new sublabel of Requiem Records.

The CD contains works by producers related to FASRAT in various ways; only two were released earlier ("Selvy's Toucan at 12" "Missing The Light" and "The White Sheik" by Maciek Sienkiewicz at 12” "That Feel") - the remaining 10 are premiere recordings. 9 artists from 8 Polish cities offer music from different varieties of house (unique, kaleidoscopic Das Komplex, ethnic inspirations of Naphta, irresistibly dancy Selva, hypnotic Jazxing) through DJ Sajko's (Paweł Bartnik's) bass techno, youthful indie rock by the Niemoc trio (remixed by members of the group kIRk in a punk-funk style), the melodic and cheerful sounds of Babuko and Mr Yo So, to the advanced edits of Sienkiewicz himself. The whole thing ends with the hit "Like A Fish" from the debut EP Das Komplex, remixed here by the British duo Coyote.

12 pieces of such different compositions form a closed, musical story, giving an excellent insight not only into the past, present and future of FASRAT, but also into the more and more rich, fresh and inspiring world of the Polish electronic music scene. The album was promoted internationally by Selvy's song "The Trumpet", which appeared in early November in the Boiler Room Debuts series.

The compilation is released as a CD with a fold-out cover of the single 7 ”- the author of the graphics decorating the cover is a great artist from Łódź, Maria Apoleika.
