Kinsky

92.96.15

95 | 2015

Kinsky is back after 19 years of silence! The "92-96-15" single is released jointly by the band and the Requiem label. It is also the first release in 22 years, the only album of the Kinsky band released so far is "Copula Mundi", which is considered to be one of the most interesting Polish albums of the late 20th century.

The title of the single refers to the band's activity that began in 1992. Although Kinsky suspended touring in 1996, a year later he recorded the second and yet unreleased album "Praeterito Futurum". The number "15" in the title of the single is a reference to 2015, when the band reactivated after 19 years.

The single contains three songs: "Rectangular Seal" from the aforementioned album "Copula Mundi", "Frihetens Oyeblikk" from the yet unreleased second album "Praeterito Futurum" and the concert recording "Der Mensch ist, was er iBt" from KinoTeatru "Tęcza" from 1996.

Kinsky, developing the figures of the post-rock model, still uses the style of extreme genres such as HC or death metal. At the same time, he saturates the compositions with an atmosphere reminiscent of contemporary rather than rock music. Boldly reaching for structural and, on the other hand, free jazz solutions, he draws a very wide spectrum of forms and solutions. Energy and subtlety intertwine in a unique way, creating a one-of-a-kind conglomerate of musical emotions - from monumental sonoric solutions to subtle games with silence and murmurs. The work of the quartet is difficult to define unequivocally, the band itself uses the term "speculative music".
