Szymon Kawalla

Chamber Music

136 | OPUS 14 | 2016/2017

The double-disc album shows Szymon Kawalla in only one, but interesting role - the composer.

Each piece has a separate story. Echoes of significant people, travels or workplaces (Kraków, Mazowsze, Świętokrzyskie Mountains, Russia, Arabian Countries, South Korea) are reflected in the sound material painted in various colors, sparkling like diamonds scattered in the musical space.

Compositions created in the years 1966 - 2016 are performed by leading Polish artists: Grzegorz Gorczyca (piano), Joanna Kawalla (violin), Leszek Lorent (drums), Justyna Reczeniedi (soprano), Marek Roszkowski (oboe). Works for solo violin, violin with piano and violin with percussion were dedicated to the outstanding interpreter of the composer's works - the daughter of Joanna Kawalla.
